Goals Still formulating

I am still formulating my goals.  May go easy on the weight training because, well, I hate it so.  Have found that when I set up something that I abhor then I end up not doing it and then hating myself, then here comes the black dog  (Winston Churchill’s name for the depression he sometimes got).  Walking is a must, I can just feel the tension and anxiety ooze out of my head when I walk outside or a different place.  May alternate the mall with one of two parks that are pretty close by.  Thanks for listening.  Geoff

    Hey:

I am 64. Started my journey at 62. I am 5″11. Was 260 now 177. On March 12, 2007 walked into the gym for the first time in probably 15+ years. Now - exercise 6 days a week alternating Weight Training and Cardio/Core. Started slow - just 3 days a week and built from there.

It is amazing how you come to want to do - those things you abhored - particularly when you start having some success. The 52DC has helped keep me focused on my goals.

    Good Luck

Black dog…. Daily exercise, early in the morning, just about everyday without fail… that’s a necessary first step into the light.

    Hey,

Alternating where you walk will help you stay motivated. Just remember you will up and down days but the key is to keep going to reach your goal.

I agree with the exercise thing, especially the lifting. That will get you to where you want to be much quicker than the walking. You write very well so I will be interested in seeing your progress through your eyes. Good luck!
